Jeremiah 23-24
01/24/2024
This week we read about God’s judgment on the kings who were serving as bad shepherds over the people of Jerusalem and Judah. There are echoes of this passage in Jesus’ teaching that he is the good shepherd in the Gospel of John.
We also look at God’s message to the false prophets and the corrupt priests who were leading God’s people away from covenant faithfulness.
In ch. 24 the Lord uses baskets of good and bad figs to reveal that the people who were taken into exile were in a better state than those who remained in Jerusalem.
